Willy’s - Halifax, Nova Scotia

Wow. I don’t know how I overlooked this iconic spot to grab poutine. After the QOTSA concert I had grabbed a beer around the corner then wanted to soak up that alcohol with a Canadian staple. And man I was not disappointed. This lovely little spot where you order from the street ... at a window was exactly what I needed. WORST EXPERIENCE!!!! The fries were overcooked(burnt). And we were overcharged. When we asked about the calculation. The guy closed the window on our face. I guess the owner needs to learn about customer service and basic etiquettes first. I have attaced a picture of the fries too.

Awesome little streetside shop for homemade burgers and fries. Good price too for downtown location. Service is friendly and quick. Totally recommend them. It's a take-out only outlet.

It's a take out only, so there's not much atmosphere to it. The poutine itself is really good tough, especially the gravy - which is even vegetarian btw. Would recommend.

The best poutine I had on my trip to Canada! We visited on our first day and shared a large steak poutine. It was so delicious! So much so, we went back on our last day and had another steak poutine and donair poutine! The gravy is really tasty and the chips perfectly ... crisp so they don’t go soggy. If you want good poutine whilst in Halifax, Willy’s is definitely the place! Read more
