I thoroughly enjoyed the food, it was great! However, the customer service left a lot to be desired. Our waiter seemed rushed and didn't even let us finish ordering our drinks before he walked away. When I requested ketchup, they brought a tiny amount, and the waiter never came back ... to check on us or refill our drinks. I understand that servers can have off days, but a little friendliness and attention to customers goes a long way. Read more

My family visited the Stubborn Goat for lunch on May 15th. Although the restaurant wasn't full or extremely busy, it felt understaffed. There was one staff member handling the patio tables, another managing the indoor tables, a bartender, and what appeared to be a supervisor or manager. This was my second visit ... to the Stubborn Goat. The first time was last December with my colleagues, and we waited over an hour for our party of eight. This time, for a party of three, the wait was also nearly an hour. We were seated in a booth, and I ordered the Chicken Sandwich, which I loved the first time. However, this time, it tasted different and was served differently. We also had truffle fries, but they tasted like regular fries despite the higher price. The mac and cheese tasted like something from a supermarket, such as Superstore or Sobeys, with nothing special about it besides some shredded pulled pork and cheese. The service was mediocre, which was understandable given that our server was alone and wearing a foot cast. A supervisor or manager was also helping to run orders to the tables, which was good. The ambiance was pleasant, but the food quality and long wait times detracted from the experience. I don't think we'll be returning, as there are other restaurants where we feel we would get better value for our money. I believe management should improve their kitchen service and increase their staff to provide better service. After all, this is a business, and diners need to be happy with their experience. Spent 39 CAD to get a margarita and a SG burger. The drink was overpriced and the food was average at best. The burger had slices of bacon folded under the top bun and they came right out with each bite and made a mess. The fries weren’t fresh and were ... stuck to each other. The way they served ketchup felt way worse than a fast food burger place. They handed us a French’s ketchup bottle after the server asked if we needed some. Have had way better experiences before and for less money than this. Not returning back. Read more

Close to downtown for lunch, The Stubborn Goat Gastropub was my first stop for Burger Bash 2024. Their feature burger this year the "Spice Jam" is a smash burger/PB&J hybrid. The Spice Jam was a slam dunk first entry for my burger week, and if Stubborn Goat added it to ... its regular menu I'm sure it would quickly become a fan favorite. Like many, I have grown somewhat jaded over the years toward the Burger Week/Bash event but I still appreciate the opportunity for restaurants to express their creativity. Our server Emily was excellent, and when the beer I ordered didn't look/taste quite right she and the bartender immediately recognized some of their tap lines had gotten mixed up and brought me the correct beverage. You can't really ask for better service. I regret that I didn't opt to upgrade my side, it was just too many fries for lunch but that's on me. Last but not least, the Stubborn Goat was able to make their burger completely gluten-free for my dining amiga. Many restaurants would only need to acquire gluten-free buns to do this but an unfortunately small number do. I appreciate that Stubborn Goat made the effort to accommodate this dietary restriction. Had supper for six at the new stubborn goat location. Positive energy, ambience, and atmosphere with dark wood and brick and lots of noise and the restaurant was absolutely full. The specialty the house seems to be mac & cheese and most of our party had it in different flavours ... and all seemed to enjoy. I had the classic pepperoni pizza And only ate half. Gave the rest to a homeless person while walking back. Reasonably priced and fast friendly service, so would highly recommend. Read more
