Enjoyed my first trip to boneheads. They are an authentic southern style barbecue .I grabbed a 2 meat plate, pulled pork and beef brisket with a side of Mac and cheese and potato salad. They are both nice and tender. They have three in-house barbeque sauces, smokehouse, sweet, southern gold ... and kick in red all fantastic. They also do catering and have sweets like peanut butter, pie banana pudding, and triple chocolate trifle. I haven’t had those yet, but certainly will be back. I’m from Montreal. Didn’t expect much from the portions based on the recent comments. Go with the pulled pork. It seems people like it. And it is the only thing we didn’t taste. We paid 75$(5$tip) for two people two platters and two drinks. X2 meat and x3 meat two sides. Brisket was leathery Chicken ... was dry Sausage- well it’s 1 crispy sausage. Sides are good. We picked up menus at the cashier, went up paid at the cashier, we had to pick up our food from the counter. We had to clean the table. And no other service. You tip before you dine in so you kinda scary. I wouldn’t tip If I am not being served as restaurant set up indicates they pay the cook/kitchen most. While friendly and perhaps hip. I think the price, service and quality all horrible. Also note: brisket is not ‘chopped’ it is thinly sliced. A brisket is not a delicacy it’s a food working people usually done in sandwiches with intentionally smaller bread than the meat chunk itself. How it’s done here is just not up to the expectations whatever other reviewers say. I hope they go and taste a real one that does not require ounces sauce set up on the table to juice them up - a drip of mustard should be sufficient. BBQ or Barbecue lovers must head to this place in Halifax. The food tasted as good as it looked. They know how to get the seasoning right and how to cook them perfectly. Pork Brisket was melting in my mouth and the Chicken leg was delicious grilled. The Ribs was ... smoked fine and the sides were great too. Poutine is excellent along with Mac and Cheese. Coleslaw was fresh. Staff are friendly and helpful. Service was quick. The place was full and buzzing. Value for money. We'll definitely go again. Read more
