There are plenty of great places to eat on Gottingen St. but when it comes to lunch on the run, these folks do it right. I normally bring a lunch to work but it was a cold wet and gloomy day and just decided I'd do takeout. It had been a ... few months since I'd last ordered from 244 so I decided to try out their veggie burger combo with salad. The seasonal root salad with sprouts (I added some avocado) was incredible as was the veggie burger. The perfect comfort food for a super nasty wet winter day. Other menu Items I've tried and loved were the fried chicken (some of the best I've had in the Supercity) and their magnificent breakfast sandwich (which is ideal for hangovers). Amazing poutine. They are layer it and give you a good amounts of curds and delicious gravy. Fish tacos are great too.

The Nashville chicken might be some of the tastiest chicken I have had. The sauce for it is also amazing, it is sour and spicy pairing with the spice on the chicken perfectly. The fries are thick cut and well seasoned, they are fried just enough that they are crunchy and ... the amount of those tiny bs crispy bits that litter the bottom of the container is minimal which is often a problem with local spots. The beef burger ($8.50) was delicious and came with bacon and cheese, but does the staff really have permission not to give you your change and assume that you're okay with using it as their tip?
