DO NOT order the seafood bisque! Commercial tomato basil soup with four little pieces of overcooked shrimp and scallop does not a proper seafood bisque make! Soup of the day and quiche of the week always make it tough to skip. There are always awesome desserts on the board.

Delightful small dining area. I had the scallop spinach salad with smoked salmon by the chef. Delicious. Lemon shake pie. Tart enough to know you are eating a lemon pie. Perfect with coffee.

The food was really good, but I wouldn't recommend this place if you have any dietary restrictions. They are incredibly inflexible with their menu, and very firm that what's on the menu is on the menu and that is that. We have someone with celiac in my family and when ... he asked to get rice instead of couscous as a side, they were completely unwilling to compromise, even though my dish had rice as a side!!! I don't see how that has anything to do with being a small restaurant and having limited supplies on hand or "taste matching". It's just rice for crying out loud. I had salmon which was great. Others in the party ordered the pork chop but found it extremely dried out. I can definitely recommend the Boca Negra as a dessert if available. Read more

My favourite restaurant in Halifax and that is saying something! I visit ever time that I go back to Halifax and can't wait for my next visit later this month. Jim's smoked salmon, potato latkes and soups are always amazing!
