Golden Basil - Guelph, Ontario

Golden Basil is one of my favorite restaurants. I've been a customer for over 8 years and always go back!

The grilled beef is really small and thin, the grilled chicken is dry and grilled pork is very oily and doesn't have any taste. I have tried up to ten Vietnam restaurants, and I am pretty sure that this is the worst one I have ever had. The customers get ... served very slowly, it took around 35 minutes untill we get our dishes, which is really unfriendly for people only have one hour break for their lunch such as students and people at work. I won't come this restaurant anymore, and I will definitely not recommend here to my friends. If you really want to try a good-taste Vietnam restaurant, I would suggest Nguyen's Vietnamese. When we arrived, we were seated rather quickly and the wait for food 5-10minutes. Apart from the fact that there is a wide variety of Vietnamese dishes, the pho stood out to me. Service wasn't to bad... the waitress was very attentive. Which would be expect as my party of three were the only ones there (which should have been a sign). The food was horrendous. The rolls were most certainly frozen as they came out with noticeable freezer burn marks. Two of the three ... dishes came out well before the third. One of these two dishes was cold to touch, there was a warm area deep inside the noodles. The third dish that came out was missing the grilled pork, and the roll that came out was not vegetable but rather chicken. I would highly recommend another resturant. I'm Asian & I LOVE their food. They serve authentic and delicious food. LOVE LOVE LOVE their crispy noodles and vermicelli. Their spring rolls & roasted pork is sooooo good! I registered for this account because I want others to know how good their food is & I can't believe ... how little reviews they got.
