Diwa Classic Indian Cuisine - Guelph, Ontario

We ordered catering from Diwa for a birthday and we were absolutely blown away by the care in service! We needed gluten free meals for family with celiac disease and Inderveer uncle was so kind and fully understood the requirements involved. We got Chicken Tikka Masala, jeera rice, and gajjer ... halwa. They took extra care to make sure everything was made gluten free but also packed separately as well! We also got samosas, aloo gobi and naan as well! Everyone was complimenting the samosas especially, saying they were amazingly crispy and some of the best they’ve had. The order was placed under my husband's name (for pick up on Saturday, lunchtime) but it most certainly was for your restaurant. Bought $75 worth of takeout yesterday. For the price you pay (about $18-20 per dish), one would expect more than 90 percent sauce with a few tiny pieces of ... solid food in it. They are very frugal with the portions of actual food in each container. The taste of everything was also extremely bland, so much so that even my husband (a white guy) needed to actually add spices from our cupboard to make it taste better. Very disappointing. Read more

My son and I tried Diwa last night for the first time. I was immediately impressed by the overall look of the decor. The hostess was attentive to my questions about ingredients (re: allergies) and walked me through the menu so I could pick appropriate items. The server confirmed ... the amount of spice that we wanted before sending our order to the kitchen. The food arrived quickly and was hot and fresh tasting. Everything was delicious! The mango lamb was particularly good. My son thought the vegetable pakoras were very good, too. One of the best indian restaurants in city of Guelph. I WOULD SAY THE BEST ONE. The taste is very authentic. Dali makhani and Garlic naan was simply amazing. Cheetah beer is very good. Me and my wife wented Get some food for takeaway. However the place is so nice and cozy, so ended up having dinner there. One of the best Indian food restaurants in Guelph. Food was so good and you can enjoy the real Indian flavors. Portion sizes were also great. ... They serve spirits and beer too. Service was exceptional. Prices are reasonable.
