Went to Eric The Baker today. Forgot they are only cash but my bad. My wife asked for a Ham and Cheese Croissant. The clerk said that she had to check if they had any and then came back and said we have them. When our order was ready, it was a ... Danish with Ham and Cheese. My wife asked and she said, that is what she thought she wanted. My wife said no that she asked for a croissant but the clerk reiterated that she thought she said Danish. The food was good but not great when you don get what you want. Also, a bit pricey. I understand freshly made but I still can't wrap my head around those prices but they are busy, so people are paying it. Read more

December '23 update: disappointing customer service with young woman at cash. She ignored the lineup to serve people who walked in last. Paris Brest and eclair were dry and bland. Cassoulet $30 is excellent, however. Previous visits: Excellent everything. Cash only. Mostly for take out as there was no real seating. 2 ... outdoor tables in nicer weather. As good or better than most of the top French bakeries in Toronto. Hot chocolate and mocha espresso made with real chocolate ganache. Reasonable pricing for the high quality. Came here for a butter tart but they only had pecan bourbon which I’m not a fan of. I did love the chocolate tart with salter caramel. That was delicious. Service was very friendly.

I returned! I bought their brownies. Wow! Must try! They will knock your socks off! My favourite foods here: brownie, cinnamon danish, chocolate chip danish, sausage roll, and croissant. Tip: Eat Eric's danishes immediately. I picked up his chocolate Danish around 10 am and instantly ate part of it, and it was ... better fresh and slightly warm compared to when I ate the other half 30 minutes later. All of my items (4) came to $15. They are a cash only place. This business is closed Sunday through Tuesday. I am definitely coming back! Wow, what perfect pastry! Everything from here is delicious! I've been a few times whenever I'm downtown and have cash with me! I'm no authority on European authenticity of baked goods, but I don't think that matters with how tasty and fresh the food always is. I've heard from other people this place is legit ... if that matters to you. I'm personally a fan of the croissants, and had the pleasure of having their red pepper and potato soup today (perfect for the cold weather!)
