Friendly independent coffee shop. 4 locations, all in Guelph. This one's the best imho. Laid back atmosphere. Good natured staff who serve it up hot or cold, simple or complex: however you like it best. One thing I love that doesn't get enough recognition by reviewers is the great little bookshelf ... of mixed classics. The bookshelf offers a standing invitation to take a break from mindless scrolling. You don't realize how caught up you are until you open one of these - and get lost in a whole different way. I’ve been to this Planet Bean a few times now and have not been disappointed once. The staff are knowledgeable and efficient, the food and drinks are tasty, and the prices are very reasonable. This place surprised me! I assumed that their desserts were going to be the usual unimpressive coffee chain desserts. I was wrong. Wow, their almond cookie was amazing! Don't miss this one! This place was hopping with customers. They have fair trade and organic products. They encourage eco-friendliness. Vegan/Gluten Free: They ... have desserts for you! Wowow! If you love coffee and supporting local, visit planet bean! I'm personally not a coffee drinker, but I almost became one from the smell! Instead I ordered a jasmine tea (bonus points every time a cafe has more than one green tea option!), a strawberry fruit bar and berry muffin. The ... tea was great, and the snacks were delicious! I honestly might come back for the fruit bar!! The interior is much more spacious than I expected, and large windows give tons of natural light to make a great study spot!
