Rockys Hot Dogs - Guelph, Ontario

Rocky’s is absolutely a historic gem of Guelph. Around since 1951, they have kept the old-timey feeling and have tiled walls, with a rustic menu. (Prices in detachable letters) The hot dog was tasty, with a moist bun that was lightly crispy on the outside. If I had to guess, I ... would say it came straight out the oven. The fries tasted authentic and real, with a soft inside and a nice crust on the outside. Those items cost $13 together, absolutely well worth it for the taste. The older fellow working there was friendly and conversational while taking orders, a nice person to be around. My food was done pretty quickly, about the same speed as McDonald’s would have been. If you're hankering for a hot dog pay Rocky's a visit. The foot long chili dog, with fried onions, that I had was excellent! The focus isn't on fancy at Rocky's; my foot long was served in a non-descript sub sandwich bag. There are a few picnic tables beside the parking ... lot, none inside. Take out appears to be the norm. Hot dogs are the thing at Rocky's; I'll return sometime to sample from the rest of the modest menu. Read more

Sooo yummy! Great little spot! For such a long line it goes so fast! Love it and love dads root beer! 4 year update: Such a cute spot for a quick nice lunch! So filling as well! Sat on the benches for lunch on a beautiful day, it was perfect!

Great place for lunch, it's an old fashioned fast food joint. The "12" Chilli dog tasted great, except it was only 9" A little bit of false advertising, but it tasted good so I still give 4 stars. The Milkshake was PHENOMENAL!!! The man behind the counter was super friendly

Food is exactly what you'd expect from a place like this. Ordered a chili dog and poutine. Poutine was made with real cheese curds, but the cup makes it hard to mix things around - not a big deal since I just dumped the cup into the plate the hotdog ... comes on. Fries are cooked well and gravy is delicious. The chili doesn't have any meat in it, but it tastes good. The hotdog was cooked well and the bread was crisp and fresh. The men behind the counter were very nice to me. It's a must visit in Guelph just for the vibes and experience. Don't go on a rainy day unless you like to eat in your car because there is no interior seating! Read more
