Wimpy’s Diner - Guelph, Ontario

3rd time eating at wimpy’s. First time visiting this location and I have to say. When we walked in we were greeted by Nita our server who greeted us with a big genuine smile and welcoming energy. Came to Guelph to visit my stepfather in the hospital. So, that really ... boosted our morale. The music playlist was really great. I ordered garlic parmigiana wings and the wimpy’s club sandwich and a side of gravy. Oohh that gravy is too good. 🤤 Thanks fiancé. I posted the pics. Also, the kitchen staff was super friendly. The only non positive thing I noticed was that there was no toilet paper in the men’s wash room. I typically have good experiences here but my last visit left me needing to leave this review. Incredibly rude and inattentive service. Myself and my partner were the only people in the restaurant at the beginning of our stay and I had to “bother” the server to take our order after ... she left us sitting with menus to text for a little over 10 minutes. The food was fine. You don’t go to Wimpy’s because it’s exceptional, but because it’s cheap and easy and right. It was fine. Never got checked in on during our meal but what did happen while eating was the other front of house staff started lecturing on the cooks about how they weren’t doing side duties and night shift found it too dirty in the morning. Not what you want to hear while eating. At this point we were one of 2 tables and this girl was yelling at the kitchen staff. We were waiting for our server to come back so we could get some after lunch drinks and instead she brought over the bill with no communication. I was shocked. I actually asked “did we do something wrong?” Because that was insane to me. As I was paying I told her we were going to get more drinks but she never checked back or asked before bringing our bill. We went all meal with empty glasses because she wouldn’t check in on us. I paid and left but I won’t be returning. Some days, the staff is SO lovely and welcoming. This review is not for them. Ellie was our server today and she was absolutely fabulous!! Took my son out for a Mum and Son date and he loved his grilled cheese. The pull on that was incredible!! Thanks Ellie for a great time 😀 Can't wait to come back!!

The other day we stopped by the restaurant. Ellie was so nice and welcoming, we loved chatting with her! The strawberry milkshakes were the best :) Very welcoming atmosphere, a bit smaller than other Wimpy’s locations but it is a nice and cozy diner. I came in a complete mess and with little expectations. Forgot my cards. But had a little cash. The waitress was wonderful. Scrumptious food. Extremely friendly. 10 * I fully paid. 🤍 Best Server Ever Shivani!!!!!!!!
