Voyageurs Lodge & Cookhouse - Greater Sudbury, Ontario

I stayed here for 1 night on my way to Thunder Bay and then again on my way back home. As mentioned in many other posts, everyone who works here is extremely friendly!! Rooms were comfortable and clean and views across the bay were incredible. I sat out front in ... the Adirondack chairs and just took in all the views. So many people stopping for fuel and food and of course taking a few pictures with their faces in the cut outs. It was fun to see and hear so many families making memories 😊 As also mentioned, the apple fritters are amazing!! As a matter of fact, when I was talking to my massage therapist about my trip to Thunder Bay, she was told me to make sure I stopped here for one....she tells anyone she knows heading up that way to stop in 😊 Read more

Great spot to spot and stretch your legs, it's super busy and filled with tourists (seasonal business), but being busy means they're good at what they do. They have a great take out menu and cookies. Worth the stop if just coming from the Sault or driving across the country.

A great spot to spend the night on our trip. It's across the road from the beach, which was great to spend a but of time with my dog running around. The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly. There is also a gas station, restaurant and gift shop all on ... site. I had the whitefish and chips for dinner and a coffee,apple fritter for breakfast both of which were delicious. The apple fritter is literally larger than my hand! The gift shop is a well curated collection of items from artists in the area, all thoughtfully arranged. We stopped in for a night after a week long hiking trip and this place was exactly what we needed. Everyone we interacted with was so incredibly friendly and the room was very comfortable and cozy. The weather looked to be perfect so a buddy and I headed north for some hiking. We were warmly greeted on Friday when we arrived and were informed that guests are welcome to coffee and a world famous Apple Fritter in the morning. We settled in before heading out to ... hike the Edmund Fitzgerald overlooking trail before sunset and then a hike along the beach at stone beach. In the morning we grabbed our coffee and fritter before a full day of adventure with a little conversation with our hosts. Both nights there were only one other room booked because of the early season so it was extremely peaceful. On Sunday morning we had our last fritters and coffee but purchased some muffins and pecan butter tarts (which I highly recommend) and headed out. I would not hesitate to stay here again and I will certainly stop back for their Apple Fritters. Read more
