Perkins Restaurant & Bakery - Greater Sudbury, Ontario

In June of 2024 I've visited Perkins Sudbury location. I wanted breakfast after staying next door at Travelodge. I was deciding between having pancakes or Belgian waffles. I've ordered Belgian waffle with 2 eggs and side of bacon. Since Restaurant was 3/4 empty, waitress came to take my order almost immediately. I've had tea ... with my waffle. Waffle and eggs arrived cool to touch. I prefer my food to be hot. In my opinion that was a weakness on their part. Order took between 5-10 minutes. Very good. Waffle was tender and juicy. Very nice. Eggs were cool but not dried out. Bacon was cool but still crispy. As for the restaurant feel and look, it gave me an impression of being outdated and kind of neglected. I was rather taken aback. Bakery display at hotel entrance, particularly gave me that old feeling. Just like previous reviews mentioned. Wow. At the same time, I was glad restaurant wasn't busy. I've eaten breakfast and dinner here. Both were not the best quality. Honestly the breakfast was mediocre and I felt was not good value or good quality. The dinner, again, not the best quality. The meat ironically was dry (even though covered in sauce), the flavor ... was lacking. Read more

King of the traditional CLUBHOUSE sandwich! Perkins’ triple decker sandwich is packed full of real turkey, real thick bacon, and fresh veggies, there can’t be a better place that offers the original style clubhouse out there. Double cooked fries crunchy outside, pillowy inside, piping hot! I just don’t think ... anyone could do any better! There are newer versions with ciabatta bread, etc. but this is the classic version and taste. Wait staff, newly arrived from college or universities, were super professional and pleasant, giving permanent staff the weekend off, most likely. Unexpectedly ended up staying at the hotel and stopped in just before the restaurant closed for dinner. Had the best half sandwich BLT and french fries that I've had in quite some time. Home for the Holidays! PROS: Delicious baked goods, yummy food, homey & comforting atmosphere, friendly and caring staff. CONS: They are quite busy. You will need to be patient or visit when you’re not in a rush. OUR EXPERIENCE: Went in this morning (Dec.27th) with my husband and son for a post-holiday birthday ... breakfast for my husband. The entrance was staged with charming decorations that made us feel at home. We waited a little while to be seated. When seated our server, Christine was very friendly and such a sweet lady. She took our order and brought out drinks. There was a bit of a wait for the food also but Christine checked in with us and even offered some muffins while we waited. When the food came out, it was worth the wait!!! My husband had the Club House Sandwich. He said it was excellent, made with real, fresh sliced turkey. 🍗 My son had the breakfast burger (egg on the side was his request). He said it was delicious. Definitely homemade and very filling. 🍔😋I had the Big Country skillet (white pepper gravy on the side). Amazing!
