Moxie’s Grill & Bar - Grande Prairie, Alberta

Such a great experience. My pasta was perfect. My friend’s veggie curry was also delicious. A great gem for us visitors to the area!

I recently visited this restaurant with my friend, and unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience. The food arrived incredibly quickly—within just a few minutes—which was surprising and concerning in terms of quality and preparation. The real issue, however, was the behavior of our server. She was extremely rude and made ... us feel unwelcome. Just a few minutes after serving our food, she came back and asked if we wanted to pack our food and leave. She repeated this question twice more in quick succession, despite the restaurant being mostly empty, with only three other occupied tables out of a lots of free table. Her repeated attempts to rush us out were disrespectful and made us feel like we were being pushed out of the restaurant. It felt particularly uncomfortable and discriminatory, as both my friend and I are not Canadian, while the server was. In the end, another waitress was sent to check on us, but by that point, the damage was done. We left feeling disrespected and unwelcome. I normally avoid leaving negative reviews, but this experience was bad enough that I felt compelled to share it. Great service, food is good, but nothing to write home about.

I recently visited Moxie's in Grand Prairie and had quite a mixed experience. On the positive side, the service was outstanding. From the moment I walked in, the staff was welcoming and attentive. They were prompt in taking orders, ensuring that our drinks were always refilled, and regularly checking if ... we needed anything else. Their friendly demeanor and professional service truly made our dining experience pleasant. However, the food did not quite match up to the high standard set by the service. While the presentation of the dishes was appealing, the flavors were somewhat underwhelming. The dishes I tried lacked the depth and richness I was expecting, based on their descriptions on the menu. Disappointed was the original review posted 9 months before this update. Tried Moxie's again and just won't be going back again ever. Things started out fine, great prompt service from a wonderful waitress. Appetizers were the highlight of the meal and looked good as you can see ... in the pics. The rack of ribs was so cold I could stick my finger in and not feel any heat. It wrecked the whole experience for me. They discounted the item and said the manager would discuss the problem with us. The manager never showed up, so hence the bad review...again. Read more
