Pho King - Edmonton, Alberta

I’ve tried pretty much everything on the menu, have been a customer over 7 years, live 5 mins away, but in the last 2 months, they have messed up my order 3 times, I finally decided to talk to the owner, unfortunately got an employee who not only was rude ... he was also insulting, ( big mouth) , this place has mediocre food at best , and yes way too much salt ! , it was a convenient place to eat , but now I’ll take my business somewhere else, perhaps somewhere that actually cleans the plates in a dishwasher and not the same sink they clean their mop in !! Whenever I go to a Vietnamese restaurant I almost always get a vermicelli bowl with various meats in it. Which is what I got again today. It was good. Service was fast. I'll give it five stars. But it tasted basically like every decent vermicelli bowl I've ever had.

Came in for a quick bite. Ordered the king special pho XL sized and some spring rolls. My cousin ordered the same but got the soup in a medium size. I do enjoy that they have a variety of sizes for the pho. I will say the XL size is ... quite large. They definitely give you a lot for your $. This is one of the better pho places in the city. My bun bo hue arrived at the table piping hot. The cilantro and green onion was a great addition as I typically never see it being served. I don't think that bean sprouts should be served ice cold as it ... drops the temperature of the broth by a lot. Flavor wise of the broth was a bit lacking. It tasted a little watered down. My mom had never had Vietnamese food before coming here and what a great first experience! She really enjoyed her Beef Vermicelli (as did I), and we both really liked the spring rolls as well! I got the Spicy Lemongrass Beef Pho which wasn't bad but I can't say I ... loved it, however I'd say that was more to do with personal preference rather than the quality. Would definitely come back!
