Turquaz Kebab House - Edmonton, Alberta

I have been going to Turquaz since 2016 and have only ordered beef/lamb shawarma wrap to go. I can say that the taste and the portion has never changed except for the price (I get it). My friend and I decided to dine in and we both had a wonderful ... time. Thanks to our server Ayeth, she's very cheerful and have a good sense of humour. She also set expectations with our orders specially with the drink (Turkish coffee and tea) as it comes in a little cup. As a bonus the manager gave us a coffee reading which are fun to hear. This place has great food and great service. The food came in time we had the Turkish bread as appetizer and it was nice . Soon after the main dish was served it was fast and delicious. My family and I visited this restaurant for the first time, and we all had mixed feelings. There were a few red flags to begin with. Our appetizers (Roasted red pepper salad & Hummus) arrived before our drinks, and we didn’t receive our “fresh bread” for the hummus until we ... were done eating. We wouldn’t have ordered the hummus if we had known all the dinner plates included it already, but the server left that out. Our ayran was served in fountain drink cups, and the white rice was not the basmati rice promised by the waiter. When the waiter asked us how we were liking the food, my dad politely expressed that it was not the best and he replied with “Thank you” and walked away, not even asking us what was wrong with our meal. We’ve been to many Turkish style restaurants as a family, and we will most definitely not be coming back. Overall we rate the food 5/10 and the service a 0/10. Read more

Always an excellent experience at Turquaz Kebab House! l wanted to make a reservation, but was told that unless I've got a party of 40 or more that it was FCFS. Luckily it wasn't too busy when we were dining. This is a great place to go ... for Mediterranean food! Read more
