Reviews for Syphay Restaurant in Edmonton, Alberta
Amazing Thai food! Had 2 chicken dishes and coconut rice. Service was fast and friendly. Will definitely be back
This Resturant is a living example of the high inflation of Canada because one bowl of rice 6 dollars. 🤣🤣🤣 first I thought it is a part of the dish when the lady simply asked “rice?” Then when I saw the bill 6 dollars a bowl 🍚 but nice staff ... for sure 👍 Read more
After having been to three Thai restaurants in Edmonton, I must say this one’s the best! We ordered Tom Yum, Pad Thai, Seafood Phuket, and Gang-Keauy and it’s perfect for three people. I couldn’t stop saying yum after every mouthful 🤣 It’s that good. I like how the dishes came ... with just enough meat in them. It was such a satisfying meal, and the service is great. We’ll definitely come back another time with our other expired groupon. We asked and they said they’ll accept the expired ones. Aren’t they so kind??? 😉 Read more
Syphay is noted as a Thai/Laosian restaurant on Jasper Avenue in Edmonton just outside of the inner city. When I first tried Syphay, I was actually not impressed. What I realized later was that I was mostly because I was expecting more of the traditional Thai flavors that I ... had experienced at other Thai restaurants. Rather, when I came back and was more open to seeing it from a different Laosian lens, I found the food to be exquisite. The space is old. It's in an old space on 95 street but it does have a vintage charm to it in the dark space. They have a parking lot but it is tight and a bit run down. You can park on the street just around the corner. The service is wonderful. The family that runs this establishment are extremely friendly and helpful. They sometimes see very busy if you are trying to call though. 5 x 🍛🍛🍛🍛🍛 Read more
Really good and good portions. I would say their medium spice is below the heat level of sriracha sauce. It's not spicy for the sake of spicy. It's flavored spicy. Besides the usual green curry and pad Thai, try the crispy Basa fish - ... Pad Paa Phit if you want something different. We love this dish. It's a sleeper. Be warm that there is no AC at this location and it can be uncomfortably hot. The staff was very accommodating by popping open the front door for some breeze. If you need AC go to the one I. The south side. Read more
