Yoshi Japanese Restaurant - Edmonton, Alberta

My wife and I had a lunch at Yoshi today... and it's.... hmm weird.... We ordered "Seafood Sunomono" for starter. First of all... it was not cold enough. It was "seafood" dish... octopus and shrimp was not cool enough. And reason ppl order Sunomono for starter vuz ppl want to increase ... their appetite but vinegar and sour flavour. Non of them were in this dish. 1 out of 5. And then we ordered two rolls. I gotta say that taste was not bad but rice was stuffed more than ingredients. Not good. BTW, nori is too chewy.... hmm... 2 out of 5 Then Sashimi. Tuna felt like it just came out of freezer. I really hate to see clam on Sashimi dish. Because we are in edmonton which mean these thing came in frozen pack. I really don't know how ppl charge alot... Portions here are pretty decent. Recommend the New Age Roll, Unagi roll, and rainbow roll. I'd stay away from the agedashi tofu, as it came out soggy and oil used to fry the tofu seemed old. Surprisingly the tempura was really good!

Small and cozy Japanese place with many options on their menu. I went because I was craving Ramen and didn't know where to go since I'm new in town. The Ramen was good coming from a non-asian perspective! Seemed like most people went for the sushi and Maki rolls.

Didn't take the greatest of pictures before we dug in, but WOW. Always fast, delicious and FRESH. The staff are amazing, so friendly and sweet to my kids. I love this place! I called ahead as my son was at basketball practice and they happily accommodated!

Tried this restaurant out, service was friendly and good. Decent portions for certain items. Little high priced for certain items with portion size lacking with the price you pay. Food was decent. The hot plate was overly salty and the bubble tea they served was flavorless. The other items were ... decent. Presentation is nice, it is a bit dark inside but other than that it was good. Read more
