Sorrentino’s South - Edmonton, Alberta

I tried the "chocolate chocolate" desert and my friends tried various pizzas. The food was very average and the desert tasted old. The service time was incredibly slow which was disappointing since we were there on a Monday evening. The only positive was the waiter who was nice to us.

Great dinner options and very tasty! If you're looking for a traditional tiramisu I would pass here, it's more like a cake

I've checked out this spot a few times. Each time really good food and service. This time was a little different, it wasn't initially my typical experience. Ordered and when the bread came request an additional side of olive oil and vinegar. Had to ask a pleasant bus boy. Our ... server remembered after the fact. Order came incorrect but the food runner corrected it before he walked away. Packing up the incorrect order for me to take 'to go'. Server came over to apologize and said my dish was taken off the bill. No I didn't eat with who I was with but the staff 'put out the fire' before it even started. Reconized error and made sure I wasn't leaving anything but satisfied with the service, bill and food. I give Sorrentio's South a 5 star because of the consistency, food and customer service. Have to say to start off that this review is based on a first time experience at this restaurant. This will have to sadly be my last time visiting as well. My business partner and I went into this location for a late lunch. I got the daily special which was ... pasta and a glass of wine, I decided to get the Carbonara since it is my favourite pasta dish. The pasta was so terrible! Definitely had to have been the worst Carbonara I ever had in my life! The sauce was watery, lacked taste and seasoning as well as being the most bland. Only thing I enjoyed was the Italian bread which I got upon sitting down. Not sure if it was a bad day or if the chef messed up the batch this time. I had the half over of 4 cheese cream ravioli and my niece had the full size fettuccine bolognese. Both were quite delightful although the ravioli was quite rich so ate it slowly. Will definitely get the fettuccine next time, service was great and prompt...would highly recommend this place :)
