The drive was well worth the food quality and service. The owner and staff were so nice. The Ruben and lasagna were awesome. The portion sizes were fantastic. Highly recommend! Can't wait to eat the pizza we ordered for take-out.

On a beautiful sunny morning we decided to stop in at Donnas and was pleasantly suprised. Walking in to a walk up and order counter style cafe with a well written board of menu items. We had breakfast and i chose the ham and cheese omelette with marble rye toast ... and tomato slices and my partner chose Donnas Featured with sausage. Grab your own cutlery, napkins, ketchup/hot sauce etc, coffee and water bar. Coffee was really good as well. I love this set up. Also when you are done you clear your own dishes and put them in the dish bin. Brilliant. The food arrived and the servings were so big for the small price. Food was FANTASTIC!!! For the more than fair price. I wont go on about the taste, seasoning, omelette perfectly browned, eggs, sausage.....just come and have a top notch breakfast for a low price. Yes, low price. Came here for lunch and wow - the reviews don’t lie. I had beef dip with fries and it was super tasty, big portion too. The owner and his son checked on us many times to make sure we were doing well. If there was a 6 star rating, I'd click it in a heartbeat. This is the best eatery in Edmonton! The atmosphere reminded me of a more old fashioned diner from the 60's, and only good feelings were in the air! The place was clean as a whistle, and a ... staff member even wiped our table for us when we came in! The service was lightning fast, and the food was still fresh! Before I even knew it, my supper was being handed to me. I got a medium sized poutine, which was around $10. And I DEFINITELY got what I paid for! They could've said it was an extra large, and I would have agreed without a second thought! Despite being covered in gravy and cheese that's nice and melty, the fries were still perfectly crispy! They had a crunch, but didn't hurt to chew! The staff were amazing too. Marty, the general manager and owner's son brought a smile to everyone's face. He treated us very nicely, and even gave my brother 3 free pizza slices, and gave me a free confetti square! Him and all the other staff members treated my family very kindly. I have heard great reviews about Donna's Eatery on social media and finally got an opportunity to visit this week (actually I went there twice) and am very impressed with the quality of the food and service provided by the staff. For the take out order I had a ... Turkey Club sandwich with onion rings to go. Wow the sandwich was huge! The amount of meat and all the fresh veggies made it a challenge to eat but I am very happy with the taste! The service was awesome! The gent who took my order was very attentive and so friendly. The second time there we ate in and I once again ordered the name and my wife ordered a burger with fries! Man this place knows how to keep their customers happy! The sandwich was again huge and so tasty and the burger my wife had was probably one of the best she has had. The gentleman organizing the boxes and other things in the restaurant was also very attentive and checked in on us and other patrons a number of times and brought us a bottle of water each. The young lady who was serving and cleaning table was very friendly and helpful. Checking in on us a few times and provided us with takeaway containers as there was lots of food remaining once we were done. I don't rave about many restaurants however this is one place you need to visit! I would give them a clear 100 points on food and service.
