Chutneys Indian Grill - Edmonton, Alberta

We have been to this place last Sunday, very upset in the service provided. When we sat for the serving, the counter person mentioned that they will close only when we finish having the food. Later while in the midst of eating, they mentioned that they are waiting for us ... to close the restaurant ( means to say, please finish eating fast). Moreover, the food was terrible, seemed as if it was sitting there for the whole day, rice was cold and less than half cooked it seems. Never ever wanted to visit again! Read more

I moved from England and was looking for Indian food that compared to the restaurants there. Then I came across this amazing new concept. The food is so fresh and light, it is delicious but healthy at the same time. Deep, the Manager that served me, was very knowledgeable about ... the product and offered me samples so I could try out the different chutneys. The restaurant was clean, comfortable and great for young kids as well. Would highly recommend, great service and amazing food. First experience, and the customer service at this location was EXCELLENT. Exceptional, in fact. Truly. The employee walked me through the various chutneys and encouraged me to try them. I got my order to go, and at first I felt like it wasn't a very big portion, but it was ... just the bowl that was deceiving because it was actually a very generous portion. It was AMAZING!!! Totally blew my expectations out of the water. I had butter chicken with basmati rice, it was perfect. Delicious, moist chicken, seasoned to perfection. Everything was incredible! Great twist to the casual burrito chain. Indian style "burrotis" are prepared fresh with personalized ingredients. Mango lassi is good but could use a recipe enhancement. You can also get a rice bowl. Chutneys allows you to sample the sauce selection before you select. Overall, ... great franchise. I had a wrap and the wraps are cooked and pressed fresh in front of you. The wraps were very tasty. There is lots of selection and they let you try all the chutneys before making your choice. Prices were very reasonable with very good portion sizes. The ... staff was also very friendly and helpful with the sauce choices. I will definitely be back. Read more
