Top Donair - Edmonton, Alberta

My wife and I accidentally discovered Top Donair & Pizza, and today was the second time we visited. The owner and staff were super nice and humble, making us feel right at home. The donairs are packed with tender, perfectly seasoned meat and topped with fresh ingredients, all wrapped in a ... soft pita with the most amazing garlic sauce. For a tip, when you order a donair or shawarma, get it with french fries, sauce, and meat, and ask the super nice gentleman to lightly toast it – not too much – and you will thank me later. The pizzas are equally impressive, with a perfect crust and generous, high-quality toppings. Despite the high demand, the service is quick, and the food is always hot and fresh. The portions are generous and the prices reasonable, offering great value for money. Top Donair & Pizza has quickly become our favorite spot, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a satisfying and delicious meal in a friendly, inviting environment. This place rocks! The food was really good, did it exactly how i wanted it, great service and was done really quick.

Smallest Donair I've ever eaten and attached pictures to show and put a can beside it for reference. This is supposed to be a "super" Donair, not a regular and definitely not a jumbo, but supposed to be in the middle. Let me just say, I've eaten a few donairs ... in my life and this was definitely the smallest. I've never had a Donair with a pita that would fold over itself like this, there is literally no meat on this thing. This would even be consider a failure if it were a regular Donair, but as a super it's crazy. The flavour and taste was okay at best. I'd say 5/10. I also got a Donair pizza and it's fairly weak as well, Maybe a 5/10. I won't be going back, that's for sure. Read more

Totally disappointed. Ordered 2 donairs. 1 cheeseburger , a salad and a large fry. The food was totally cold. The fries were old and stale. Salad was just all sauce. No meat on the donairs , it was all veggies. Called to ask why everything in my ... order was garbage and the guy disregarded me, acted like he didn't even know what I was saying. While it doesn't hold up to Swiss Donair in-terms of tasty donairs, Top Donair is a decent spot with more flexible hours, a broader menu including rice dishes, and slightly better pricing than its neighbor. The meat could benefit from some more generous seasoning, the sweet sauce could be stronger, ... and there could be more onions and tomatoes added to cut the saltiness/greasiness of the meat.
