I love this restaurant. The people who run it are very friendly and welcoming. Their lunch specials give you a little of everything which ends up being a great portion size. In the evening it’s calm and relaxing.
I came to Edmonton for the weekend and found this gem while exploring the city on public transit for fun. I ordered the moussaka with Greek salad and potatoes and it was delicious! It seemed way more authentic than other Greek restaurants I’ve tried! The service was fast, the food ... was served really hot, the owner was super friendly! Five stars Read more
Wow I’m so glad I ended up going here. I just really wanted Greek food and this place had a good rating and good prices. Most of the other Greek places in town also had good ratings but their prices were a little steeper than I wanted to pay so ... we went here. It turned out fantastic. The food was great, the service was good. I love to support locally owned restaurants. And the vibes were perfect. For their sake I wish it was busier but it was nice to have a quiet meal. I will def be recommending this place to everyone I know! Read more
The Oil Lamp is a lesser Greek restaurant that borders between the downtown core and the inner city. It's not the most ideal location but it is worth the visit. The family run establishment has a cozy feel to it. Though some of the space is getting old, it still has ... some charm. But when you have your location near the inner city, you also often get some visitors. On this day, a homeless man was at the front talking to himself and wandering about. The service is good. The lady is not the friendliest of wait staff. But she was helpful and we were eventually able to make her smile. The food is wonderful. You can tell it is all more freshly homemade rather than pre-packaged or prepared. 4 x 🧆🧆🧆🧆 Read more
After being mislead by the reviews I decided to check this place out. I will not be back. Nothing authentic about the salad, potatoes and chicken had way too much grease and dressing on them. They tasted sour. And the service was not great either. I felt unwelcome (I'm not ... sure why) but she made me pay even before I received my food. She said they were closed at 6:45p.m. They need to change their time on their Google. After all that I STILL left a 20% tip after being charged 13% for my food. I'd rather go to Jimmy The Greek and pay $15 for a much tastier meal. Read more
