The Soup and Sandwich Shoppe - Edmonton, Alberta

Stopped in after shopping locally and asking the cashier for a local restaurant recommendation. I paid $21 and had one of their daily specials, it was a large panini and soup and I also had a slice of buttertart. Oh my goodness it was all delicious. I couldn't eat all ... of it so came home with left over soup for lunch the next day. I see some people saying it's expensive, but honestly given the quality and size I was happy to pay it. My soup had lots of fresh vegetables and the sandwich was jam packed with meat, cheese and vegetables. I'll definitely go back next time I'm in the park! Read more

I work in Sherwood Park, this was one of those places I stumbled upon when I was craving a good home made soup. Since then I have been in 1-3 times weekly and have yet to be disappointed. The owner also makes Christmas wreaths among other decorations, and I was ... able to get some beautiful pieces at very reasonable rates. I have a theory about restaurants, the club sandwich is the best indicator of their overall quality. It showcases everything; meats, cheese, vegetables, bread, basically the whole gamut. I always order a club the first time I go to a new restaurant and needless to say I've had many, many ... of them over the decades. This was one of my top 5, and by far the best I've had in Edmonton/Sherwood Park. Lots of crispy bacon, shaved turkey and ham. Fresh lettuce and tomatoes, real Cheddar . Hrrrrmmmm.... I really wanted to give this place at least 4 stars but lunch for two people should be less than $45.00. Very clean inside, nice decor, soup was very tasty. Sandwich pressed and grilled, had lots of toppings and oozed with melted cheese. Each of us took a to ... go bag because we couldn't finish.
