Celebrated my kid’s first birthday and ordered a platter which was all fresh and tasty with great service.

I came across Korean Ricecakes & Tea House while searching for food in the area a while ago. The server was friendly and helpful in explaining to me their food as their menu is in Korean. In terms of food, I tried the rice cake with sesame filling. It was ... quite good: Rice cakes were chewy on the outside with sweet and strong sesame flavour on the inside. There were ~20 of them for $5. They had other flavours as well including red bean and mung bean, and different size/type of rice cakes and they are worth trying. Lovely owners who offer a variety of delicious gluten free treats that have a wonderful chewy texture and are not overly-sweet. They also have plain ones for soups but I like the desserts :) $6 per tray.

I always pass by here and decided today is the day to try it. Definitely an authentic korean rice cake shop. They sell rice cakes used in stews, stir fry, etc., and rice cake desserts. Not too sweet, definitely homemade. The cute korean lady who worked at the front asked ... me if it was my first time. I was familiar with the produce, but I definitely asked for some recommendations. 10/10 recommendations, I got rice cakes covered in sesame seeds with red bean, honey and sugar rice cake balls, and mochi with red bean paste. I apologize, I am not knowlegable on the names of these desserts, but I loved the colourful rice cake balls and mochi the most. The menu is in korean, so I asked for help and she was very helpful. I would 100% recommend visiting here and trying their items! Definitely a new local favourite and wish I visited here sooner! Really delicious rice cakes and treats. Their staff is very friendly too. I enjoy my visits and always get my fresh rice cakes fix here. They have 'fatter' rice cakes that I like to roast over the campfire and they're delicious!
