Oriental Dim Sum - Edmonton, Alberta

I still bought from here today, for the first time, even after reading some bad reviews. I had no real issues. I thought any 4 items for $12.96 wasn't too bad. I got deep fried shrimp, lemon chicken, broccoli & vegetables, and rice noodles. Everything was really tasty and good quality. Good ... portions, filled me up nicely. The lady working there certainly won't win any personality awards, I think she'd rather be anywhere else. She's why I'm giving 4 stars, sheesh, cheer up, lady! Absolutely horrid food. I ordered chicken balls and a wonton soup. The soup had only 2 tiny wantons in it which looked frozen and uncooked while the broth itself had a strange rotten smell. I had one spoon and then threw it in garbage. The chicken balls were hard and ... devoid of any taste. The server was just ok and reluctant about giving out any cutlery or condiments. I usually order from Oriental Delight just opposite to them but thought about trying out oriental dimsum today. Imagine the lowest quality Chinese food - this place is worse than that. Absolutely shocking how bad it is - avoid at all costs. They even managed to ruin chicken balls - rock hard and completely inedible.

Food is beyond horrible. Majority of their battered items are composed of 95% batter. They do not remove really old food items so you will get a mix of new and old items.

It's a Chinese food stall at the food court. It's the cheapest option in comparison to other similar offerings at this end of the mall, portions are large and good for a quick bite. The service was a bit slower as there was one person serving and taking payments but ... it wasn't too long that it was annoying. I got the daily special combo(comes with rice/noodle, 1 meat item and 1 vegetable item) which is like a snack sized portion but enough that it was filling enough for what I wanted. I also got a wonton soup (without noodles) and it was too hot to consume right away, I had to let I cool for 15 mins before I could attempt to eat it. Read more
