It was a busy Sunday night, but we were seated quite quickly. The soup base options were pretty plentiful, and the buffet was packed with tons of delicious additions. The food was phenomenal. I also appreciate how quick and attentive the service was. Our pots never felt empty, and neither ... did our water glasses. I do wish they better outlined what soft drink options they had available and I will say the cake options for dessert were far too sweet and very clearly purchased from a supplier, it works for a large crowd but I would have loved to see some more diverse offerings with better flavors, the mocha mousse cake and tiramisu cake offered little in terms of good coffee or espresso flavor and the butter cream felt like it was very very cheap. We celebrated my 50th birthday here. None of us had ever had hot pot before. I had a reservation... but we did at the door for at least 5 minutes due to either disorganization or understaffing. When we were finally seated with our friends, we waited another 20 minutes. They were ... short 2 place settings. I had to go find a server. She told us that she hasn't realized our party had fully arrived. We got our place settings and had to explain we didn't know how ask this worked. Basically, we delegated to my wife to order for the table because it was loud, and we couldn't hear our understand the server. Finally, the table went for some buffet and our soup bases came out. Most got the basic. I got Szechuan. The server was really concerned about how spicy it was. In the end, it was perfectly fine. I'd recommend it. Not once did the server ask if we wanted drinks. She came by a couple of times but I just think they were really rushed and understaffed. Once we got into the rhythm it was cool. The kids took a little help getting used to cooking their own food. They definitely enjoyed the fried food buffet and the desserts. The ice cream was quite good too. I would recommend the quail eggs. They had a rule about charging $5/100g of uneaten food. This definitely caused us to not experiment as much with some of the exotic foods, which was a shame. Overall, expect a little bit of chaos but the experience was fun. Truly one of the better hotpot restaurants here in Edmonton! Good atmosphere and the interior creates a modern-like environment. Unfortunately, what brings this review down is because of their service. The food here is good, there is lots to choose from because there is buffet food and hotpot, I personally really ... enjoy getting their green onion cakes. What is also really great here is the selection of deserts! With different kinds of cakes, some pudding, and even ice cream! Now the service definitely needs some work, of course I don’t expect a luxury experience but I feel that the front of house may need some more organizational change or experience. I once walked in with a reservation for 4 but the entrance was very very crowded with others with reservations with 10+ people. The crowd leaked further into the restaurant which made it difficult for customers eating and the staff to get through. I’m not sure if this calls for remaking the waiting area or maybe not booking so many reservations at one time just for them to wait so long while they sort it out? But definitely some change would be beneficial for them ! Anyways, other than that, the service during the eating was good, staff are helpful and quick. This really is a great place to eat with friends or family, the price is about ~$40 per person, maybe a little expensive for some but not too bad. We had an enjoyable dinner at this Chinese Hot Pot Buffet. The place is spacious and parking was easy. Lots of food choices - meats, seafood, vegetables, noodles, fried stuffs, cocktail sausages, tofus/ bean curds, dumplings, sweet desserts, fruits etc. We love it that they have individual pots for everyone ... and you can add anything you like into the bone broth soup, as you can customize your soup base to your own liking with some options from the sauce bar. They also have some ready cooked food like fried chicken wings, spareribs, crispy spring rolls, fried Chinese doughnuts, seaweed salad, kimchi, edamame etc. A nice place to enjoy dinner with my family especially on a cold day.
