This is a well earned 5 star experience solely based on the customer service I received from a sales associate here by the name of Sam. He not only had one of the most friendly personalities in the store but out of the times of been here I’ve never left ... as happy or in a great mood as I did dealing with him. This is the top of the 'luxury' retail stores in Canada. I have always felt comfortable in the store and have found the staff polite and professional. Of course, you pay for the high levels of service, but if you desire the highest quality goods (and a great restaurant), this ... is a great place to shop. I cannot say more great things about this store! Yes it is a smaller Holts compared to it's sister locations, but I find that it creates a more homey environment. If you want shoes, you can order them in- I recommend Sylvia, she's an absolute sweetheart! Hit or miss. A few associates at the handbag and cosmetics section are very friendly and helpful. Do NOT buy shoes there! Very few selections, no one there to help, everything is out of sizes. Other sales saw me waiting at the section and pretended didn't see anything. Finally got ... someone to help and was very impatient which made me uncomfortable. Have been here many times over the years b/c there really is no other spot in this city to get certain brands. Service levels are just sad really, doesn't matter if it's new staff or old staff or staff that have been there for 20 years (I first shopped ... at this location in the late '90s), with the odd exception, they all seem to have their collective nose in the air and just stare at you instead of helping you as you peruse the store. Must be something about the long term staff 'culture' at this location, because I don't experience the same vibe at other locations across Canada. Read more
