Description LA FAMILIA- OUR FLAGSHIP COFFEE Producer: Luis Felipe Lopez (Santiago's Uncle) Farm: Finca Santa Rita Region: Caldas, Colombia Variety: Castillo, Tabi Process: Washed Tasting Notes: Plum, Orange, Brown Sugar, Cocoa La Familia is back! This coffee comes from our founder's family farm in Colombia and is the coffee that started The Colombian. This year, our Uncle Felipe's coffee is a blend of castillo and tabi varietals. It's going to be a much sweeter lot grown anywhere between 1600-1900m, fermented in cherry for 24 hours, then in mucilage for 48 hours and then washed and dried in mechanical dryers for better control over the drying process. This year it tastes like plum, apple, brown sugar and caramel. This is a very sweet coffee and one of the best lots produced by Felipe yet!

We choose to donate to them because we know first hand that it is a charity that actually makes a huge impact on our local community. Our founders, Santiago and Kristin personally stayed at The Ronald McDonald House in Florida several years ago and they are so grateful to have had this invaluable support. The Ronald McDonald House provides accommodation, comfort and a sense of community to families in need, helping them stay close to their children in hospital care. Last year we donated $8125 to The Ronald McDonald House Edmonton with this fundraiser and we hope to surpass that this year with your help! Description Producer: Fabio Oviedo Farm: Finca La Esperanza Region: Huila, Colombia Process: Washed Varietal: Caturra, Colombia Tastes Like: Roasted Almonds, Brown Sugar, Dates Fabio Oviedo Gonzalez is from the town of Palermo in Northern Huila. His farm is called La Esperanza and sits between 1700-1800masl. His passion is to cultivate coffee and he has been doing this most of his 62 years of life. This coffee had a dried fermentation which means that no water was used during the fermentation process. Then it was de-pulped and washed to increase sweetness and body in this coffee.
