Dirtbag Café - Edmonton, Alberta

The place is quite cute, right near the University. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and lighting as well as the music. Got one of the smoothies, overall was okay but the chunks of spinach weren't super blended which wasn't a pleasant surprise.

Went here for a coffee. The place is also part of a rock gym so it’s a bit chaotic. Cafe seems understaffed. Paid street parking sucks. Other than that latte was pretty good and was a chill environment.

Lots of parking in-front. Gluten Free cookies, which was pretty good and another gf snack I didn't try. Dairy free options with coconut, oat and soy milk. I had the matcha latte with soy milk. They offered it without sweetener which I appreciated because I watch my added sugars as a ... nutrition student. The table size was good for a laptop and mouse, as I do work at the cafe. They don't have a window bar with plug ins, but there was luckily one next to my table, seems odd for a place close to the university to not have areas optimized for students. The building has a rock climbing gym on one side and the cafe on the other, which is fine, but you have to go to the other side to use the rock climbing bathroom which doubles as a change room, so don't expect to sit on the throne in peace and quiet. At least it was a clean bathroom, but it was out of paper towels. The front counter lady was nice, but they don't bring the coffee to your table, which is normal for most places anyway. Over all I'm happy that they have gf snacks and my latte was good, it was warm and I could work and plug in my laptop. So I would come here again. It would be nice if instead of the couch next to the door it had a window bar with plugins and USBs for students or even against the back wall where the logo is. Read more

Drinks are wonderful, snacks available but nothing blowing me out of the waters. Atmosphere is wonderful, and with couches, armchairs, and outdoor seating. Very welcoming for both solo and group gatherings. It is connected to Boulders, so towards the evening, you will get a bit more of the "ah it's a ... gym after all" olfactory experience, but for the most part, the vibes make up for it, and if you're there for bouldering too, then even better! Service speed sometimes depends on how busy the bouldering side gets, but staff are always 10/10 with kindness, attentiveness, and care. Read more

Wonderful place to meet with a friend, or to read a book or work on a laptop. I've conducted many business meetings here because of its central yet quiet location & casual, comfortable vibe. The beer list is extensive! Always changing & up to date with new products. And I can imagine a ... beer really hits the spot after completing a session at the adjacent climbing gym. I love the vibe.
