Maximo’s Pizza & Donair - Edmonton, Alberta

The donair was very sloppy and pretty dry. The so call "poutine" was a bit of a joke providing you with a runny cold liquid and some cheddar cheese on the fries. Won't be returning.

A nice little mom-and-pop kind of place, with really friendly service. Also, you'll get as good a donair as you're likely to find anywhere in Edmonton.

Used to get do airs here all the time. They were one of the best I've had in the city until today! I ordered a regular donair. There was very little meat and twice as much lettuce, tomato and onion. And the pita was horribly soggy ... and broken when I unwrapped it 3 minutes after I got it. I called the place to let them know and found out it has changed owners. So far the donairs, fries and pizza was delicious and very inexpensive. The pizza is a homemade thin crust pizza with homemade sauce. $10.00 for pick up and 2 toppings. Worth being on Jasper ave for. Also if you like grossly drunk ugly 20 somethings who hang out at the tragic Circus ... club, then avoid this place on the weekends. Edmonton is bad enough but when suburbanites come downtown with out dated clothes hair styles and attitude then you better stay in until the Circus leaves town! Read more

Pretty good pizza and reasonable prices, kinda rare for the downtown core. It's unfortunate that this place attracts a lot of street people, blocking the entrance panhandling you or drunkenly berating the poor staff, who should get combat pay.
