Smitty’s - Edmonton, Alberta

I have been frequenting Smittys since my first experience with the chain in Fort St John, B. C. So family members thought it was a good place to celebrate my 78th birthday since I had received a birthday meal letter from Smitty's. Everything was great until I was served my steak ... sandwich which was not as expected. Two triangular pieces of burnt and charred meat each no more than 2 inches across were on the plate. I thought it was a joke until I realized it wasn't. The server apologized, took the plate, and after an interval returned with a thoroughly cooked larger piece of meat. I did not make a big fuss at the time as it wasn't the families fault. Everything else and the rest of the meals were good. However I cannot wrap my head around the fact that the kitchen staff thought that it was okay for a substandard meal to leave the kitchen. Furthermore, how could the otherwise good server place the plate in front of me without noticing the unsatisfactory meal. My loyalty is in question. Read more

I’ve ordered take out from this location via Skip the Dishes before and I really enjoyed it. I had the cinnamon swirl pancakes and they were hot, fluffy, and a great combination of pancake and cinnamon bun. I’d definitely order from here again.

The Ball & Chain and I go for Breakfast most Sundays at this location. Food is always good, and quick to come out too. Never really had a bad meal, plus our regular server (lovely Asian Lady) is always super helpful and friendly. Love this place!

We met up here for a working lunch. Smittys is a nice family restaurant and it is well lit with natural light inside. The service was quick with refills. We could order all day breakfast or lunch or dinner at lunch time. I opted for the club house sandwich with ... Italian wedding soup. I liked both. The soup could have used a bit more salt so it's no problem to add your own. Probably good for people opting to eat less salt. I'd definitely go back to this location. First time at this restaurant and it was great. It amazes me that I have lived in the area for 14 years and this is the fist time here. My son suggested it as they have 39 cent wings and excellent nachos. It turns out it was a ... good choice. I personally had the fish and chips, it was served hot and was tasty. Our server was friendly and courteous and was attentive to our needs. The restaurant was clean as well as the washrooms. I would go again. It is Smitty’s so standard restaurant food and prices are reasonable. Read more
