Trying this place has been on my bucket list since I moved to Edmonton. Finally made the time to go here on Saturday with my boyfriend. Arrived at 9am and we were seated immediately. Decided on inside as there was still a chill in the air. Place is beautifully decorated and ... loved the way it was laid out. We got our waters immediately and then looked at the menu. Fair warning, this place is not cheap, but I also wouldn't say you get your bang for your buck either. To start, their regular coffee is $7. Yes, I know they have their special coffee beans but $7 for a coffee is just a lot. My Hawaiian Coffee was I accepted that. But $7 for a regular coffee is just too pricy for me. Plus, it's not free refills so to the everyday person who drinks typically two over a meal, which we did; meant we spent $28 on coffee alone. No quite a red mark there for us. We both order from the Eggs Benedict menu and looking at the prices again, we just dove in. What I can say is that the fruit they serve on the side is upscale. We had pomegranate, kiwi, dragon fruit, orange, watermelon, honeydew and strawberries. The section was much nicer then one would normally get. The potatoes were tasty and the right amount of crispy too. But the main event was where it was at....the eggs, which we both asked to be cooked medium were perfect. Why it's soo hard to do I'm not sure, but they nailed it. My Spicy Chorizo was soo good and thay Polish cheese, amazing. My boyfriend ordered the smoked oyster and bacon and loved it as well. We both were given bread options and I loved that I could have pumpernickel. Overall, we did have a great time and loved the food. But for the cost, we both agree that we won't be back. Or, if we did it would have to be with the understanding that our bill for breakfast and coffee would be $100. Read more
This was a pleasant surprise and the menu choices were almost overwhelming! We split/shared the oyster/bacon and pâté/truffle bennies and they were both very good, though the truffle flavour was quite intense and hides the pâté! Oddly the bagel itself was just meh… not sure if they are baked on site but ... it tasted and felt just like a store-bought one, none of that NYC bagel chewiness. Still it was an excellent meal and I’d happily go back. Read more
Best brunch experience ever! Happen to have my favourite coffee there. Me and my friends really enjoyed the egg benedict and the atmosphere. The service was also excellent and friendly, and we took a selfie together after the meal. I would definitely love to be there again and sit at ... the patio 🥰 Read more
First time going here and won't be the last! There's so many options on the menu to choose from. If you want to feel like you're stepping into Italy and not Edmonton give this place a try. It is antique, rustic and homely. The ambience is very relaxing and I ... would definitely recommend it as a great place for a first date. I am excited to go back and try something new. They have very unique and plentiful options on the menu including specialty cheeses and meats, and even drinks! If you aren't a picky eater and enjoy fancy dining but that is more low-key and relaxing then I would recommend this cafe. The food had a beautiful presentation, which makes me want to come back for more. However, I ordered the camembert cheese and asparagus Bennie expecting the cheese to be of similar taste to brie after asking the server if it is the same kind of cheese. But I found it was overly bitter which, after googling, means it might have been too ripe and has gone bad. Also the asparagus was pretty bland. I worry that during slow seasons too many items on a food menu might make produce not as fresh. My date however ate his entire plate and enjoyed the whole experience! The coffee is great of course too. Thanks for a great experience we will be sure to be back! Read more
