Reviews for Seasons Bar & Grill in Edmonton, Alberta
Not normally the type to leave a review but wasn't exactly impressed with the restaurant in the hotel. They have signs boasting "Re-Opened Under New Management!" which perhaps should have been a red flag. I'll start by saying we had 2 meals here, supper on our first night, and the ... free breakfast in the morning and we are a family of 4; 2 adults, 2 children age 6 and 9. The supper my wife and i had, a clubhouse and a beef dip, were actually pretty tasty. They did not provide the kids menu for supper (which they have posted everywhere in the hotel) because they were "out of nearly everything." we were told. So we tried to order just a plain cheese pizza for the girls. The server seemed confused by this and looked to the menu saying "we dont have cheese pizza" and said something like "we can do pepperoni and take it off" which i realized after meant they didnt make ANY of the pizzas, they were just premade frozen ones. Ordering drinks, anything you couldnt point to on the drink menu was out of the question (we later heard another customer trying to explain how to make something simple) so we ordered thier "signature Ceasars" which was literally vodka, clam and tabasco (an insane amount of tabasco). I watched them make them. one of the daughters pepsi was very clearly soda water as the syrup bag for that pop must have run out. It took 10 minutes for them to bring us another drink. We were brought 2 club sandwiches and while we tried to explain its not what we ordered and one of them was taken away, another server came running out and snapped up both of those sandwiches that were for another table. All of this wouldnt have been so bad, it is just a hotel restaurant after all, but that meal for 2 sandwiches with fries, a 10" cheese pizza and 2 pops and 2 ceasars was just short of $100! The complimentary breakfast was exactly what you'd expect. Flavorless scrambled eggs from a bag, undercooked sausages, mushy potatoes, cold toast. The juices were SEVERELY watered down (so much so that the daughters wouldn't drink them), but the coffee was at least hot and not too terrible. The service for both meals was laughibly bad. Like making you wonder if you're being filmed for a prank show bad. Being new at something is fine, learning english comprehension on the job is fine, everyone has to start somewhere, but it's as though the servers were being trained by the worst waitress you've ever had. TWICE during breakfast, we observed the staff seating people at tables already occupied by others who had gotten up to get drinks. I recommend skipping this place if you can, especially for the normal paid menu. Theres PLENTY of options close to the hotel, and while some of the items were good, it was NOT worth the price for a bunch of re-heated food. The complimentary breakfast is free. That's about all that can be said. Tomorrow morning, we are gonna go to the Denny's down the street. Read more
That is the kind of food they serve you. I am not difficult when it come to food but we had to throw everything in the garbage after a few bite. Didn’t taste fresh and very disgusting.
Everything about the dining experience here was just "okay". From the moment of entering the service was lacklustre. Very business-like, no attempt at getting to know the customer, just directed to a table and handed a menu. The menu has a fairly extensive variety, but I would need to visit again to ... determine if they are consistent between cuisines. Burger was decent, as were the yam fries. The brownie had an odd consistency but was tasty. The location was pretty dead, even on a weekend evening, yet I saw a food delivery driver come in and wait several minutes before being greeted by a member of staff. Overall, unlikely to visit again. First time ordering here tonight, had a craving for a steak and wanted to support a local resteraunt I hadn't tried before. Glad I did, the food was really good. Nice large portions, seasoned very well, the veggies were crisp and fresh not soggy at all. Steak was cooked how I ... asked, and the ceasar salad was really good. My only complaint is it arrived a bit cold but that's not on them at all, makes me really want to head over in person now and try it not delivered. Would definitly recommend this place. Read more
Whether it’s the free “breakfast” when staying at the hotel, or the dinner, the service is fine and the food universally bad. Half my dinner salad was rotten and I got $3 taken off after insisting. How do you wreck fries into something weird-tasting? Ask them. The veggie burger was a ... soggy mess of something unidentifiable. A friend who had potatoes as a side said they were gross. The hotel breakfast was white bread in three forms, very overcooked eggs, and ham that was like cardboard. That was all. Avoid unless desperate. Read more
