Huku Chinese Bistro - Edmonton, Alberta

I live in Edmonton but since my mother moved to Sherwood Park I have had the ipportunity to eat at Huku several times, several lunch meals and supper twice. Service is fast and friendly. Food is very good, nothing too spicy, no heavy sauces either. Portions are good, have always ... taken home what we were too full to eat. Full menu of individual selections as well as a few combination plates, not a great selection for combination plate options but many individual options. Cost of two meals, under $30.00 with enough food left to take home for that midnight snack. One caution, do not arrive early on a Saturday or at all on Sunday or Monday. Arrived at what would have been fifteen minutes after the listed opening time, only to find the lights out and door locked. Had to have a very bad meal at the chain restaurant next door. Very fast and friendly service. The food was fresh and not at all greasy. Prices were decent considering the portion sizes. The restaurant was almost empty when we were there, but they had a lot of Skip the Dishes orders and take out orders.

Food is consistently above average and veggies in the meals are always fresh. There are times when the service is slower than one would like but this is the best oriental cuisine I have found in Sherwood Park after 12 years living here so it is worth the wait (I ... eat at restaurants most every day). Was very disappointed had heard good things about this place and the reviews seem good. Waited an hour for my pick up order at the restaurant that I called in an hour and half earlier, it was new years eve so probably not always the case. Communication was very poor ... no offer of a drink or a discount on the order. The food itself was very bland, chicken in the rice seemed under cooked and slimy. Chicken in the chicken balls hard to chew and stringy. The chow mein had no flavor, ginger beef was alright but again not much flavor. Very Disappointed overall. Read more

BEST flavor, freshness, taste & service!! We "discovered" this awesome gem in Sherwood Park on Easter Saturday. Absolutely wonderful in all respects...we are very familiar with Asian foods from many regions, so to find this quality in our area is quite satisfying. The menu is authentic - priced for ... all to enjoy. Staff are happy, pleasant, and although busy, always willing to assist.
