Evening started great. Sat at the bar and had a couple drinks before our table was ready. The apps came out quick and were really good but then things floundered at the mains. Mistakes were made and 2 of our party of 5 food was cold. Mentioned this to 2 ... staff. Our server and another member and our concerns were not acted on. I'm not sure what was going on that day, maybe 2 other tables seated including us and the service was so slow. Maybe they were getting ready for the supper rush and the service for the afternoon was considered not too priority or what but we weren't very impressed. Used ... to love State and Main but unfortunately they keep taking things off the menu that I considered their best foods. If you want the same type of restaurant but a better menu, go to Original Joe's instead. Probably going to start avoiding State and Main going forward. Read more

We've been here many times since it opened a few years ago, and the food and service used to be good. Recently though it seems to be going downhill. Last night (Monday) 3 of us went, and it wasn't busy. We waited for about 20 minutes before ... our waitress came to greet us which is unusual - we usually have someone within 5 minutes. We ordered 2 apps and then 3 main dishes. Our apps took a long time to come, but at least were hot when they finally arrived. Our main dishes were NOT good. Caesar salad has almost no dressing on it, the chicken fingers were lukewarm and not crispy, and my bison burger had wilted lettuce. We waited and waited for our waitress to come by so we could ask for more dressing for the salad (and some mustard for my burger) but by the time she came back our food was cold. This place is disappointing. The food is expensive, and it's not that great. I got the fish tacos, and there was a tiny amount of crumbled fish and a ton of lettuce. For $15.25, you should have a decent chunk of fish in the taco. The taste was okay, nothing ... overly spectacular. However, despite the mediocre food, our server was really incredible, nice and friendly. Read more

Best tomato & bacon soup ever! It was a little piece of heaven. My only complaint was the cranberries on my Pina colada....where's the cherries or pineapple?
