Thirsty Cactus Cantina & Grill - Dundas, Ontario

We got a chance to stop into the Thirsty Cactus this past weekend on a trip to Dundas. Very cool Tex/Mex atmosphere and vibe. The service was ok, and the prices seemed reasonable, maybe a little on the high side. We got some nachos for everyone to share, they were ... very good and generous on the toppings. The mains were good overall, fairly good portion sizes. The Jerk Chicken tacos were way spicier than expected and kind of ruined the “jerk” taste of the chicken. The Mac and cheese was awesome, very cheesy. The Cranberry & Brie Chicken sandwich was great as well, very nice pairing of tastes. Food was really good. I saw that they had cranberry salsa on a chicken sandwich dish, but was really feeling like having a burger, asked if they could add it to my Mushroom Brie and they said it was no problem. Absolutely loved everything about this place. A Tex-mex theme restaurant/bar which has an outdoor patio as well. The food was delicious and portions were generous. It was hard to decide what to try. I met up with my Sister-in-law for dinner and growing up in Dundas, I've always visited the Thirsty Cactus off and on over the years. So when she suggested it, I was like perfect because I've never reviewed this place in the past and it's a great little establishment! We ... met for dinner and got a table right away. Our service was fast and both our orders came out correct. I myself had a chicken quesadilla and a diet pepsi. I also tried their peanut butter cup dessert. My Sister-in-law had the fish fry with sweet potato fries and coleslaw. Everything was very delicious except for the coleslaw. My sister-in-law said the coleslaw wasn't very tasty. Wow! don't wait pop in here for your next meal. Had the pork Enchilada and WOW. They smoke the pork in house their sauces exceptional. The chef clearly understand layers of flavor. Staff was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Highly recommend
