I like large places so I feel good at Barbies especially cause they have booths . The guys who attended us where nice and attentive, always smiling. I've been going to Barbie's when it first opened (maybe 25 years ago?). I haven't been there in around 5 years and nothing has changed except they finally renovated. We went for Sunday lunch on Father's Day. Service was quick and friendly. I ordered the smoke meat poutine and my husband ... ordered the pizzaghetti. Both were good and even better - $30 tax in. You really can't get a better deal price wise in the city, you just need to remember to print the coupons from their website. If you're looking for a good, inexpensive American-style restaurant, Barbie's should be your go to. Very family friendly too. April 2024 - This is a return visit. I had to try a different pizza, and the hamburger steak was tried by my husband. Good choices. Puzza was great, and so was the hamburger steak. Barbies is a great and convenient place to eat. This time, we sat in the ... bar because there was a large party with noisy kids. It's not a good idea. The service was not up to par. When asked for something, it took forever. We had to get up and get it ourselves. Not impressed. Unbeknownst to me in the summer of 2021, this Barbie's location reopened. Why did I not know about it? I was surfing the net and accidentally found that the restaurant had reopened. Yeah! With a fully redecorated location, it was an adventure to see if the new franchise is as good as the old. We went with the basics. I had the Meat Lovers pizza, and my partner had the Chicken Souvlaki Sticks. The pizza was good. I ate the whole thing. So if you follow me, you know I'm not a big eater. When it arrived at the table it was steaming hot. I love that. The top was a bit overdone, as you can see in the picture, and it seemed as if someone had forgotten the toppings. The crust was thin and crispy, but as it cooled, it got very hard to cut. The sauce was super tasty, and the pepperoni was perfectly sliced. The menu said that it had smoked meat and bacon, but it was hard to find any. Too bad. I love pizza. As for the Souvlaki, it was very good. I tried the chicken, thinking it would be dry as Souvlaki sticks often are. I was wrong. Tasty, juicy, and super tender. The plate was filled with rice, and a small bowl of salad was provided. Good portions.. fair prices for the offering. Good nachos with 28.50$ draft pitcher (new reality ?) Chicken was good. Very good service from Simon. Very disappointed by the burger… good toppings but the meat was processed, dry, tasteless and hard to chew. It should be easy to fix. Invoice was suggesting the right ... amount of tip before taxes.
