Desi Junction - Delta, British Columbia

We use to always visit this place the food was great and the atmosphere was lively. Don’t know what happened but all of a sudden the staff seem to have changed. We sat down and ordered some drinks. The waiter said you guys want doubles? We were like singles are ... fine. He kept on insisting we get doubles. We said no. So he got our drinks. We ordered a vegetarian platter and it was brought out very quick. It tasted great all of a sudden the waiter comes to our table and says this was for another table. We just looked at him. We didn’t place the plate on the table. He did. And it was the same appetizer we order. He was mad at us that we started to eat. We didn’t make a big deal about it we waited for our dish ate and left. This restaurant has huge potential they need to focus on what made it so popular in the beginning. Read more

This has to be a hidden gem in North Delta. Chicken tikka masala was savory and tender with the right amount of spice. I think they put a little tamarind in it which gave it some extra flavor. The lamb seekh kabob was also amazing ... with a good mix of spices and tender as well. Spices were not over powering so the taste of lamb could be appreciated. Dish number three was butter chicken which was so juicy and tender. The masala tasted like it was freshly made and was aromatic. Rice complimenting the butter chicken as I scooped them both with tandoori oven naan. Dish number five was the obligatory channa masala with naan, scrumptious! A little kheer at the end to bring the spicy flavors to a memory until next time. Ive been to a lot of Indian restaurants, this will definitely be on my list next time I come to Vancouver. Read more

I used to go to Desi Junction before, but haven't gone in a while. We saw they had new owners and lunch specials decided to give it a try. The food was pretty mediocre some dishes were pretty good like the classic Shai Paneer or chicken Tikka. Some dishes were decent, can’t say they were the best. The staff was pretty friendly and servers are nice as well. On the sanitary issue it is a total mess. Every plate ... we were served was not cleaned properly at all. I don't like how expensive everything is. I ordered butter chicken and had to pay for every additional thing, rice, naan... etc. Those should come with it. The prices look okay until you get charged for absolutely everything. Also the decor in the restaurant looks shabby and could use a ... repair.
