Ma Belle’s Cafe - Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

This place is always amazing to visit. It is a bit quirky but the food is great. Try their savoury omelette or quiche choices or one of their great soups. Make sure you leave space for some sticky toffee pudding, though, it is the best I've ever tasted.

Great food! My fiancé and I were visiting from Newfoundland and we loved how friendly every staff member was. The quality of food was fantastic as well! Definitely coming back when we are back in Dartmouth.

What a find!! A friend and I, neither of us with much familiarity with DT Dartmouth, stumbled on this gem of a restaurant a couple of weeks ago. We had the ginger carrot soup, a panini, a sandwich and coffee. EVERYTHING, including the somewhat overly solicitous service, was EXCELENT. ... The heartiness and quality of the food left us with the desire to try some deserts but without the capacity to eat more. A few days later my friend brought her daughter there just for desert and felt rewarded for making the trip from Clayton Park. There is no such thing as perfection but the " Dining Experience " we had in this rustic, simple, warm and friendly cafe is as good as it gets. My only criticism concerns the hours of operation. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! We stepped in to have breakfast and a truly awful waitress kicked us out of the place because we had cups of Tim Hortons coffee. We explained that we wanted to have breakfast and not drink out coffee inside, and she still insisted that not even the cups ... were allowed in. So we didn't even get the chance to try the food. My son & I went there for lunch and we were not disappointed. My son told me that was the best sandwich he had in a long time. The breads are all homemade and the fillings are not over processed meats and spreads. I had a crust less quiche with a ... green tossed greek salad! It was perfect for portion and delicious. The staff were friendly and the establishment was cozy. I decided to have them make sandwiches for a celebration I had for a birthday. We had lots of other foods to compliment the table but the sandwiches disappeared first. I plan on dropping by this place now and then to enjoy the delightful foods prepared from scratch.
