As a sushi fan, I was eager to try this place out. However, my visit in March was disappointing due to bland and dry food. I noticed they have been closed for almost a month or two. I've been eating at Sushi Koo at least once a week for the past year. I was devastated when they closed down only to find out they were open again the next month. Didn't hesitate and ordered some basic rolls, oshi, dragon roll, the usual. First, the prices are absolutely insane ... now. Yes, it's true the portions are a bit bigger, but it was bland and not comparable to the old place. I loved their salmon oshi and dragon roll, but they don't taste the same anymore. And I miss the happy combo :( At this moment, nearby Shio is the cheaper and also tastier choice, and unless the menu and prices drastically change, I unfortunately don't see myself coming back. I love going to this place whenever I need to get my sushi fix. The Happy Combo is my absolute choice every time because I get to choose any 3 items from the list of choices, all for $15.95. For example even though the chicken karaage is listed as an ... appetizer, the portion size is big (although shrinkflation has made it quite a bit smaller than before the pandemic). I always end up with enough leftovers for another meal. The restaurant is quite small with a few tables inside and two small bistro tables on the sidewalk. The funny thing is that I've heard the staff talking to each other in Mandarin. But the sushi is still good! Read more
