Conveniently located resturant with some delightful eats. The resturant was fairly busy when I walked in. I ordered Crispy Salmon and Cold Soba from the seasonal menu. All dishes arrived promptly and the service is good. The crispy salmon had excellent combination of textures and flavours, a must-order. However, ordering cold ... soba on a wet, rainy day was a mistake on my part. Nevertheless, I appreciate the rich flavour and especially the addition of panko suspended in the broth. The noodle bowl was topped to the brim, therefore caution is needed to prevent spilling. The takoyaki and sashimi accompanying it are good but forgettable. I was still hungry after the 2 plates, and thus ordered the Garlic Butter Ika. The squid is very fresh and quite buttery. However, the portions are small, which is the general case for everything in this resturant. I walked out feeling full but became hungry again not long afterwards. There's nothing bad to say nor is there anything amazing or special to mention about this place. Maybe the good reviews caused us to have overly high expectations but the food was pretty ordinary and the prices are really standard. We all left still feeling hungry and how we preferred ... other Japanese restaurants. Not much service was offered at all besides waiting with our hand up for a while for someone to finally notice we were ready to order. The tables are close together and the group of people seated behind us were incredibly loud and talking about uncomfortable topics, contributing to an overall "meh" experience that almost leaned towards negative if it wasn't for the nice presentation of the food. Came here with some friends and ordered a variety of dishes. The fish in the salmon don we ordered tasted very fresh and the salmon meat was very thick and well worth it for the portion received. The oshi sushi here was also very good, I would say it was ... comparable, maybe even better than Green Leaf (as I think it was less greasy) and I really enjoyed the tempura flakes on the fatty tuna oshi. The calamari was really crunchy and good. The chicken karaage was also very crunchy but a bit dry in my opinion, however the mayonnaise they gave us as sauce helped alleviate that. Really great sushi place with different and unique dishes. Great combos all served with miso soup. Really good quality food at good great prices. They have a promo at the moment, Mon - Thurs 4-5.30 20% off!! Great service, friendly staff, nice clean modern decor and bright environment.
