Reviews for Walee Bistro in Coquitlam, British Columbia
All their food is homemade, they make their own noodles and wontons/dumplings. I tried their cold sesame garlic noodles, their beef roll, and their beef dumplings in mala chili oil. Their cold sesame noodles are refreshing, with cilantro, cucumbers, chili oil and a perfect ramen egg. The noodles are made in ... house, thin with a good chew and easy to slurp. You can choose your spice level, the medium spicy could be too spicy for some people. The beef roll was legit, it is some of the best I've ever had. Perfectly crispy with beef, cucumbers, and hoisin sauce. The dumplings are to die for. Serious show stopper stuff! They have 5 different filling types and it's made in house; I tried the beef, you get 10 big dumplings in their spicy mala oil. The dumplings have a lot of filling, with a thin wrapper. That's how you know they're really well made, it isn't doughy. The chili oil is spicy and numbing, the medium spice level may be too much for some. The dumplings were $12 which is totally worth it. The noodles and beef roll were $8. The portion sizes are quite big, the pictures don't do it justice. Show this place some love. Read more
Really huge portions, wonton combo is a great deal. Chili oil tastes great.
Cold noodles, dumplings and chinese street food. Very friendly and quick service. The food court here is like a street fair for asian street snacks and drinks. Casual, cheap eats.
Update: The owner has changed as it reopens after covid closedown. Food quality improves but the price significantly goes up. No free tea now. Authentic Sichuan cuisine, very nice price, free tea and rice (you can even add rice for free), I feel like back in Sichuan! The two drawbacks are, long ... wait time and too salty dish(typical of Sichuan cuisine). Only one chef there, he is too busy with orders. If he could hire some assistants things may become much quicker, but the price may go up. Missing this dish so much after my first week in Canada😂 Read more
Had this place for the first time today. It’s a gem. Had the vegetarian cold noodle with garlic sesame sauce. Prices are very reasonable at $8.99 for a big bowl. Highly recommend this place, and will be back many times!
