Waves Coffee - Coquitlam, British Columbia

The new management has gone down horribly I’ve noticed a decline in quality and taste of both the food and beverages. Customer service is alright but the overall quality of everything regarding the new owners and products has been disappointing. I would not recommend this location to anyone!

Waves is in the middle of the mall under the staircase, they don't have any recipe for a latte, it's an amount of esspresso in warm milk... they do two shots for small or large size, no adherence to the three to one ratio, even the small size was very ... watered(milked?) Down beware if you order a latte, you're paying for warm milk... worse, the staff had no idea that there was a recipe to make the drink, also, zero effort to presentation, they couldn't even put the lid on the cup properly and their payment prompted for tip on this substandard product and service. Excellent location Coquitlam Centre mall at low level. Have Canada brand created the famous Waves coffee house. I ordered waves coffee cappuccino reg. Good place to have a relaxing drink and very good smell & delicious 😋 Very good serving kindly ms.Cadence.

Usually busy so I like stopping by late in the day just before closing to pickup a mobile order. Yesterday, had a spinach feta savoury pastry and regular size cafe au lait. I have come here numerous times and every time I have been treated so well. The baristas are sweet and orderly. One of the guys that works here, I forgot his name, always knows my order and brings it right to my table. Coffee shop intimacy is a must for ... me. I especially love the fact that they don't hover over your table to tell you they're closing every minute, an hour before closing. I can't speak for all Waves locations, but this one in Coquitlam has a very welcoming and positive vibe. Also, the location is nice because they have free parking and its close to the mall and other residential areas if you're driving. As for the coffee, its good, better than other chain coffee shops for sure. I usually just get the Canadiano (which is just a nationalistic Americano) and its really well done. However, once in a while I'll order a latte and I love that Waves offer forms of "milk" like coconut milk, soy milk, almond milk, low fat etc. I will be honest, I don't do fancy coffee drinks because I actually love the taste of coffee in and of itself. But Ill tell you this, if a coffee shop can do basic coffee right, then they usually do everything else quite well too. Read more
