The adventure of finding the best hole in the wall resto continues and this unfortunately don’t measure up. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes but there really wasn’t any flavours outside of salt and pepper. Don’t expect service as there usually is only one server.

Really happy to see that Lucky Gate is still going strong. Have come here several times with family over the years and it’s always pretty solid every time we are back. The portions are very generous and they have pretty great pricing for what you get. I recommend the noodles ... as they are made fresh and although you may not get to see them working on pulling the noodles live anymore (maybe?) they still taste great! I believe the place is still family run and the service seemed like it could be a bit shorter in staff but our food still came out pretty quickly. Parking can be a bit tough but there’s definitely options around if you’re willing to walk a block down or from across the street. Read more

First time visiting here and I must say that the portions are pretty big and filling. Came with our relatives and can say that we left with a food coma lol. Food tasted great too. If you like spicy food, then you should definitely come here as they have a ... lot of really tasty spicy options. Decor is rather dated and they could do with some updated furniture and table coverings and interior decorations, but that's about it. Come here with an empty stomach and you'll be leaving here plump full. Read more

Our first time here, nice little restaurant. We arrived just before 6pm on a Friday and there was only 1 other table besides us but was a full house by the time we left. We ordered the Dan dan noodles, Yangzhou fried rice, crispy fried egg rolls, pork & cabbage ... dumplings and lucky gate home-style steamed pork dumplings. We enjoyed everything except the dan dan noodles, there was no flavour just a peanut sauce. The dumplings and rice were delicious, the rice was light and not greasy at all. The egg rolls came with a plum sauce but not the typical commercial plum sauces you normally get, it seemed like a fresh plum sauce which I liked. Lamb. You come here and order their cumin lamb or lamb skewers. Pair it with an order of the hand rolled pancake in Shangdong style and hot and sour soup. Divine. Oh the deep fried fish is pretty good too! If you enjoy refreshing xiao long bao, as in not heavily ... flavored with spices, salt and sugar, but just a light fresh soupy dumpling you dunk into black vinegar, this is the place to get it.
