Oasis Bar & Grill - Cobourg, Ontario

Name has changed but Google hasn't caught up to it yet, so maybe it's in the process? Same location and phone # as Oasis Bat & Grill. Unfortunately can't recall what the new name is. There are a few seating areas to choose from including a patio that isn't ... stuck out in the street but unfortunately it was raining so we chose the area near the bar, ambience is nice. Staff are friendly and service was good. Menu is reasonably priced. Mixed drinks were good as was our meal. We had the brussel sprouts appetizer, Asiago chicken penne and Reuben sandwich with fries, all of which were very good, however the fries that came with the sandwich weren't hot/fresh. Had a problem with my meal and the waitress looked after it with ease. Atmosphere is great onion rings are great and I have had great burgers there as well. Overall it's a decent place to go in Cobourg. They have great music on Sunday nights now so make a ... reservation. Read more

Servers are amazing, and the food is good. Club is rwal turkey, chicken sandwich is a breast, wings were okay, ribs were a special and cooked very flaky and flavorful, schnitzel was the best meal...environment is small and in renovation I think...the main area will ... be better in the summer to open the patio. For small tables it's a great environment. We were lucky to have the entire main area and we were a group of 6. Kitchen is open so it's interesting to see the creative in action. Read more

With the entrance tucked into a corner and the signage on the street not too bright, it is easy to miss this restaurant. But when you get there the bright colored frontage captures your attention. Supposed to have started in 1988, this place still has an old world charm on the inside. ... With a rustic interior time seems to stand still here. But the ambience and service were great. For a Sunday lunch we did not expect much, but there were quite a few tables occupied. Speaks volumes of the popularity of the place. My wife had the glazed maple and pecan salmon which, she said, was an absolute treat. If I rated this place 4 stars it was only becuase my dish fell short. I ordered the Asiago Chicken. This penne pasta was supposed to have creamy Asiago sauce. But what I got was a very watery Asiago sauce that had way too many sundried tomatoes. The only bad spot in, an otherwise, good restaurant experience. I am sure this must have been an aberration. So next time we visit Cobourg, we have to visit this place again to rectify my rating. We enjoyed our first visit to the Oasis Bar & Grill. Food was good, prices acceptable and service was friendly but admittedly...slow. Either the server's first week on the job or some training is needed. Simple things like dropping cutlery off before the food... shouldn't have to ask for cutlery. It wasn't ... enough to ruin our experience... however I did notice that others were a little more annoyed. It's been a while since serving was a thing and I'm willing to allow for a little"ring rust" so to speak. It's certainly not the only restaurant to be experiencing this issue. Great little hideaway in the middle of town. As always...My recommendation is based on my desire to return... which we will. Read more
