It has been many years since we have eaten at Frankie's so decided to have a birthday dinner there. The food portions were deceivingly large, and mostly quite good. I would advise against the ceasar salad though. The servers were friendly but seemed disorganized. Not enough to ruin the evening but ... worth mentioning. 3 times we had to ask for silverware. The restaurant seemed very clean and in good repair. It is a little loud for my preference but it does work with the casual vibe. Read more
The focaccio with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and the scalloped potato on the beef entree were our favorites, the main entrees were 'meh." I ordered beef tenderloin, between a medium rare and rare, it came medium with a little pink plus it was a bit dry. The ahi ... tuna was dry as well, no flavor and had to request lemon. It had an odd cumin scent that did not go with entree. The tagliatelle with squid ink was flavorless unless oily is a flavor. A bit disappointed for our last night's dinner in Canada. Service was ok, she had a few tables to juggle. Read more
Frankie’s is one of my most favourite places to eat. I even eat in their Vancouver establishment. I ordered tonight, And I am so disappointed. I reported it to Skip. But I feel that the chef tonight, Maybe he needs to see this review. Look at the prawn order, Arancini, fish and ... focaccia , My goodness !!! Paper thin Focaccia , where’s the prawns ? 🤔 dry salmon, Even had a hair in the Arancini! I don’t even know what to think…. Except The kitchen should be ashamed. Wasted money 😣 Read more
It was just a dinner out with my sister. I had the lamb lollipop with arugula, and my sister had the chicken linguine. For drinks, I had the peach Italian soda topped with whipped cream and she had the Frankie's mojito. The lamb lollipop was very tender and juicy. The arugula ... salad was very fresh. The chicken linguine was creamy with an aftertaste of curry. Both dishes were nicely done. The peach Italian soda was refreshing and not too sweet. The whipped cream on top was a nice touch. The only issue is that parking can be a problem as they have limited spots that are also shared with the pub behind them. Read more
Honestly I expected so much more from this restaurant. Although it appears to be very high end from the inside and the outside, the food is incredibly lacking. I ordered the chicken Alfredo tagliatelle and it was not good. At all. The chicken tasted like it was cooked, frozen then ... reheated, and the Alfredo sauce was flavorless. No seasoning. Very disappointed to say the least. End mote: I did order the tiramisu for dessert and it was delicious! Read more
