McDonald’s - Carleton Place, Ontario

This Walmart never has all the items advertised in their weekly flyer. I went in to buy blood oranges shown on sale in the flyer, and they didn't have them, nor did they have them advertised in-store. They think that because the location is in a smaller town they don't ... have t give the same service as larger towns. Also Walmart advertises low prices, but some of their stock is way overpriced ie a 3 pack of tricolour pepper's is over $4, while 4 packs are on sale for $3.99 at other stores! This place is a dive and a ripoff. Prices are high, they can't stock their shelves even though the boxes are sitting there, you have to be careful with some of the produce cuz it goes bad fast, what a joke this place is, I'd go to a different one if it was close enough, they don't care about their customers because they know there's little choice in Carleton Place, their slogan should be "Walmart - We Walk All Over You"! It would have been nice if there were garbage bins for customers in the parking lot like many in the US. Save money, you can refill water here with 4L, 15L water bottles

Completely automated recruitment process. Two interviews. Waited a month after applying for each. Drove across the entire city (Ottawa) for them. Denied the job for no apparent reason. During the second interview, I was pretty much told that the interview process is actually pointless, as it is completely random whether ... or not anyone gets the job, never mind the fact that the application process itself is handled by a third party. I don't care if I don't get the job for a GOOD reason, but this ain't it, and I don't suspect they'll provide one even if I inquired, which I still might do. Carleton Place Wal-Mart is definitely my go to place for 95% of my shopping. I very seldom have to shop in any of the other stores for anything. Being a 76 year old "young" senior and stand about 5 ft 7 inches tall, I would like to ... know why my favourite drinks - Fruit2O - are always sitting on the top shelf about 6 1/2 feet high. I've looked for staff to assist me, gone to the service desk to ask for assistance and while they said they would get someone, no one showed up. As a result I've gone to the section where they sell mop handles and pulled down what I needed. Mind you a few more bottles came down than I needed so I left them on the floor and the mop handle there. Another grievance of course is mostly 2 cashiers on at the best of times. Seldom will they assist the "senior" seniors bag their groceries so they hold up up everyone else in line nor will they lift heavy bags in to their carts. So I will offer to help senior customers next in line as I feel for them. Such a shame the good old days are long gone. For the most part the cashiers are friendly but the shining star of this store is Steve, the greeter. What a gem he is! Read more

Good location and ample parking. Price wise I would advise to check other grocery stores nearby as few things can be costly at Walmart while they are on sale at other places Love the new International section. Nicely arranged.
