Thruway Restaurant - Carleton Place, Ontario

Waffles were terrible. Dry and hard. A small dab of whip cream, strawberry syrup, no strawberry, no maple syrup or butter. Thruway is cutting back on the quality of food. We were regulars for breakfast, time to move on to another restaurant. Service was terrible. 👎

Food was very good. Hot, flavorful, and portion size was big. The server was very nice, and attentive but not bothersome. Was busy at the time but did not wait long for the food. Definitely go back.

Very quaint, yummy food. Some of the yummiest grilled chicken I've ever had, delicious fries, very friendly service! Maybe a touch pricey for what it was, but a great stop all around.

I love going to Thruway Restaurant! The food is great! Their Chicken Brochette Platter is truly amazing. I do have a fair amount of accommodation when it comes to eating in restaurant, and the waitresses and kitchen staff nails it everytime! Their dining booths are comfortable ... and it is such a wonderful thing to be able to bring acquaintances, friends and parishioners to this restaurant and to share over a great meal! I will be back! We have a long history of visiting this restaurant throughout the years, maybe once or twice a year. The food seems all homemade, and the presentation is top notch. The servers are always attentive, which is a nice bonus. Unfortunately though, the flavor seems to vary considerably. E.g., on this ... visit, the potatoes seemed to have an odd flavor, both the mashed and the boiled halves. And the pot roast gravy seemed odd. Hopefully it was just the odd hour of our visit, 3pm, and not a sign of overall style. It has a nice patio on the side with a nice shade cover for most of it. Read more
