The Good Food Company - Carleton Place, Ontario

Stopped by for brunch while in Carleton Place. Lovely atmosphere - lovely staff - great food. I will definitely come back when stopping off in Carleton Place again. Very cool little cafe/restaurant.

Very nice place for breakfast or brunch. It's on the smaller side so you order at the counter and they bring the food out to your table. There are about 8 small tables and a small bar, so seating can be limited if it's busy. The establishment asks that you ... move along when finished to help make space for others who may be waiting to sit down. It wasn't crowded while I was there. I discovered this wonderful cafe during the Bridge Street Summerfest. I really liked the decor, while the affogato and croissant that I ordered were delicious. This is a fun spot that I look forward to visiting again.

I have been here multiple times and every time has been great. Service and staff are very friendly and quick. The atmosphere of inside is very European and quaint, it is very much a small town cozy cafe with small seating. They also have a patio outside to enjoy the ... fresh air from. There is a large selection of drinks and a good selection of food considering how small the cafe is. The food and drinks are a little on the pricier side however it is a local business and it's understandable and the quality is too good to complain. Alcohol is served here as well along with baked goods, take-home meals, and other local products such as condiments and snacks. Highly recommend the crepes, cream of mushroom soup, and the potatoes. There is so much to love about the Good Food Company! First, and most importantly, the people who work there are kind, attentive, customer-focused, and know how to make a great cuppa coffee! Next, the food; I'm a creature of habit and usually go for a savoury scone with my coffee. The ... scones have just the right amount of satisfying "crunch" on the outside, followed immediately by the tender, fresh, warmth of the perfectly seasoned inner goodness. The coffee, always spot-on.The other day, my eyes were drawn to these carrot-cake muffins with Chai spiced icing. I fully intended to take this treat home, really, I did. Then, I asked if they had any forks to go. After I left the GF Co and turned right to go to my car, a park bench called out to me. I sat there with my carrot-cake muffin in the clear take-away container. I swear it spoke to me...then, taking just the right amount of time to savour the experience, I no longer had a carrot-cake muffin to take home. Truly, the consistent goodness of their food products cannot be overstated. Lastly, the atmosphere is welcoming and cozy. You can purchase products from other wonderful local businesses while inside. Then sit to enjoy your meal or snack on their patio or at a cute table for two in the cozy courtyard-like alleyway beside the building. When you're in Carleton Place, or if you're passing by, it is well worth your while to stop by the Good Food Company. Just leave one carrot-cake muffin for me, please! Read more
